It’s been a really relaxing long weekend. My family and I decided it would be a lovely addition to use the long weekend to drive down to the beach to visit my parents in a house that they rented for a break in Sorrento.
The five bedroom house was decked out with everything you could imagine. From an inversion table to an adjustable bed, this home seemed perfect for those with bad backs, so maybe that’s why they went with it. They both have a history of that so this was perfect for them.
Once we arrived, my two kids played and played and were barely seen for hours. Nana & Pa were very happy to wait on their every request, within reason of course, and I was all too happy to make the most of the holiday from parenting. My mother had it all sorted, right down to bath time and dinner time.
My husband and I sat indoors all day, lazing around on the couch as the cold winds and rain set in outside. With the open fireplace going around the clock, we felt cosy and relaxed in no time as we all sat back with a Tina Turner DVD and read various books and magazines.
A casual night in with fish and chips together with a couple of board games and some lovely red wine, made for a perfect evening where we got a chance to chat one on one with our folks, who we don’t get to do it with as often as we would like.
Glad we made the choice to visit.
